Violinist Zoya Tsvetkova enjoys a versatile career performing in some of the best groups in Boston and all over New England. Born in St. Petersburg, Russia, into a family of musicians, Zoya began studying the violin with her father at the age of 4. She moved to Boston in 2004 to pursue a degree at Boston University’s College of Fine Arts. During her time at BU Zoya has won numerous awards and made her debut as a soloist with the Boston Pops Orchestra under Keith Lockhart.
Ms. Tsvetkova combined her love of orchestral repertoire and traveling by attending many prestigious summer festivals, including the Pacific Music Festival in Japan, and the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival in Germany. She has played under the baton of Christoph Eschenbach, Fabio Luisi, and Christoph von Dohnanyi among others. Ms. Tsvetkova is a member of the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra, Boston Ballet, Boston Lyric Opera, and Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra. She has worked with many incredible artists, including Yo-Yo Ma, Lang Lang, Renee Fleming, and Herbie Hancock.
